Steven Atlas

Steve founded The Frame Maker in 1976 in a small shop in National City. He moved the business to the current location in Mission Hills in 1999. Steve has forged many successful relationships among skilled artisans, dynamic manufacturers, talented designers and exciting artists in San Diego and is proud to have supported the art & design communities in San Diego for 32 years.

Greg Strange

Greg is The Frame Maker's lead designer and resident design authority. Greg has been working with Steve and the San Diego art & design community at The Frame Maker since 1980.

Samantha Atlas

Steve's daughter Samantha is the Office Manager at The Frame Maker.

Samantha is an alumni of California Ballet and San Diego State University.

Tom Houk

Tom joined The Frame Maker staff in 2005 as designer and project co-ordinator.

John Hiemstra

John has been a custom framing professional since 1990, and has been an independent contractor & professional artist since 1995.

John has worked with The Frame Maker as a production and marketing consultant since 2005.

Jason Sherry

Jason joined The Frame Maker staff in 2001 and is our lead art preparator.

A working artist with a degree in Fine Art from San Diego State University, Jason has exhibited his work in several San DIego galleries, most recently at Seminal Projects in Little Italy.

Grant Schmidt

Grant joined The Frame Maker staff in 2006 and has been custom framing since 1994. In addition to frame construction, Grant coordinates all of our ordering, shipping, receiving and equipment maintenance.

Don Strandberg

Don joined The Frame Maker staff in 2001 with a diverse background in the arts as painter, builder, and museum exhibits preparator.

Don is also a gifted musician with a CD out titled "Simple Pleasures".

Michael Bordeaux

Mike joined The Frame Maker staff in 2007 after moving to San Diego from Orlando, Florida. Mike began his custom framing training at The Frame Maker and has quickly become an integral part of our production staff.
