PROGRAMS

Teen Workshop: Illustration with Morgan Blair
→Thursday, August 13 > 1-4 PM > Downtown
In collaboration with Sezio, teens ages 14-18 are invited to participate in a hands-on illustration workshop with Brooklyn-based artist Morgan Blair. After exploring Blair’s creative and working process, participants will collaborate with the artist to create a large-scale collective illustration project.
Brain Glamor: New Works by Morgan Blair
→Friday & Saturday, August 14 & 15 > 6-10 PM > Luce Loft
Meet artist Morgan Blair and view her work on view at downtown’s Luce Loft (1037 J Street). Road-tripping from Brooklyn, Blair brought a large amount of work with her, spanning an array of media. Blair is the first featured artist in this new Artist Exchange Series, launched by local arts organization, Sezio.
Open House: Free Third Thursday Evening
→Thursday, 8/20/09 > 5-7 PM > La Jolla and Downtown
On the third Thursday of every month from 5 to 7 pm, visitors receive FREE admission to both the Museum’s downtown and La Jolla locations. Plus, free Gallery Guide-led tours beginning at 5 and 6 pm.

Part cinematic funhouse, part short-film festival extraordinaire, “physical channel surf” your way through the galleries to experience a range of different short films as they screen on a loop throughout the evening.

Curated by MCASD Director Hugh M. Davies, the exhibition highlights the Museum’s pioneering history and ongoing commitment to showing, commissioning, and collecting large-scale installation art.
Octagon: Photographs by Kevin Lynch
Octagon presents photographs by Kevin Lynch, who was given unprecedented access to document the Ultimate Fighting Championship mixed martial artists, both ringside and behind the scenes.
