→Opening January 18 in La Jolla Jasper Johns: Light Bulb This exhibition brings together for the first time Johns’s light bulb sculptures and related works on paper, including several drawings and modified prints from the artist’s collection that have never before been exhibited.
Cerca Series: Javier Ramírez Limón Tijuana-based photographer Javier Ramírez Limón presents two straight-photographic series that document different moments in the process of migration and adaptation of Mexican communities in the Southern United States.

Members’ Preview: Jasper Johns: Light Bulb →Saturday, 1/17/09 > 7-9 PM > La Jolla MCASD Members are invited to preview the galleries and celebrate the opening of the exhibition, Jasper Johns: Light Bulb. Hear MCASD Senior Curator Dr. Stephanie Hanor speak about the artist’s work, followed by a cocktail reception.
In conjunction with the opening of Jasper Johns: Light Bulb, exhibition curator and MCASD Senior Curator Dr. Stephanie Hanor will present her research on the light bulb motif in Jasper Johns’s work.
