For the seventh consecutive year, John Hiemstra of The Frame Maker spent Columbus Day weekend in Little Italy chalk painting as part of “Gesso Italiano”, the street painting component of the annual Little Italy Festa.<\/p>\n

We think The Frame Maker community will get a kick out of these photos, as this year, John created a trompe l’oeil picture frame in chalk for his chalk painting, a recreation of Dura’s “St. Domenic” from the 15th century now hanging in the Uffizi in Florence, Italy.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/center>The frame design was lifted from one of the handcarved and gilded picture frame corner samples from The Frame Maker showroom, naturally based on a traditional Italian design.<\/p>\n
