Another artist with powerful work at this year’s ArtWalk in Little Italy was Lynden Saint Victor of Santa Fe, New Mexico. His richly crafted original paintings have an irresistible pull, drawing the viewer in to their surreal, yet somehow familiar worlds.

The Frame Maker has had Saint Victor’s work in our shop before, but only one piece at a time. It was a pleasure to see an entire body of his work displayed together.

Featured in New York Arts magazine and American Artist Digest, Saint Victor’s online gallery, journals and most recent updates can be found at www.stvictordiaries.com.
Beautiful summer weather this past weekend framed this year’s ArtWalk
in Little Italy. There was a lot of great art work and The Frame Maker stopped to talk with a few of the over 300 different artists who exhibited this year.
Here are pictures of painter Irina Negulescu‘s booth. Irina had a couple of these pieces at the Artwalk media preview last Wednesday, but we forgot the camera, so if you didn’t make it down to Little Italy or don’t know Irina’s work, here you go.

We promise to get caught up on April events this weekend, but first, we just want to say how much we’re looking forward to ArtWalk this weekend in Little Italy. In reconnecting with our old neighborhood, The Frame Maker was invited to the media preview of 2008 ArtWalk at the
W Hotel Wednesday night.
It was great to see an enthusiastic reception for this year’s featured artists and meet some of this year’s sponsors. We especially liked Irina Negulescu’s new paintings displayed at the show, just finished and in search of title.
We forgot the camera this time, so you’ll just have to head down to Little Italy this weekend and see for yourself.
This April has been a busy month for us and the San Diego arts community we support.
Before we catch up on our work with The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego,
the SDSU Children’s Center and the San Diego Fine Art Society, we want to make sure
everyone is aware of this weekend’s upcoming ArtWalk in San Diego’s exciting Little Italy,
just a few minutes from downtown, the airport and our shop in south Mission Hills.
From 10am – 6pm this Saturday and Sunday April 26 & 27, not only does ArtWalk continue to grow in size and quality of the work represented in classic art fair format on the streets of Little Italy, they continue to upgrade their website as an excellent year-round resource for local artists and collectors.
“In addition to the familiar artists from years past, ArtWalk has juried in more than 80 newcomers this year. The caliber of the art, the variety of the work and the array of subject matter truly offers something for everyone. Mark your calendar and plan to come to Little Italy San Diego to see and enjoy the depth of creativity and talent of Southern California’s artists.
The culmination of a year-long upgrade to the ArtWalk web site is now live! The addition of a search feature to the artist section of the site helps event attendees find their favorite artists before and long after each of the ArtWalk events. Check it out and see how easy it is to find the art and artists you want to connect with. You can search by medium, name or event location. KidsWalk , with its interactive art activities, will once again be at Amici Park with expanded space, activities, and a large grassy area for families to relax and enjoy!
San Diego’s best musical groups, including 33 performers and dance troupes are featured at 7 performance areas during ArtWalk. For a look at this year’s palette of music and dance visit: www.artwalksandiego.org/performers.htm .
Don’t miss one of the most exciting arts events San Diego has to offer this weekend in Little Italy!.
