New SD Art Prize show reviewed in UT online
September 23, 2009 – 8:41 pm… and art blogger Keli Dailey has mixed feelings about it in “ART: Display dismay over SD Art Prize winners”.
Some of Tom Driscoll’s pieces in the two-man show “Double Header” are fascinating, obvious draws. I’m talking about his series of colored-yet-translucent resins with found-object (seeming) specimens inside. The vertical casts reminded my companion of valuable amber jewelry with insects trapped inside….
The series of twisted and paint-bathed plastic bottles on his side of the L Street Fine Art Gallery did not win my affection, however…..
