Artists’ Proof preview at ArtWalk
May 13, 2009 – 3:20 amHere are two pictures together that give an idea of how the ECOR™ panels went together to give us a quick to assemble, quick to disassemble, completely reusable art gallery, even on the tilted slopes of Fir Street in Little Italy. Part of what appeals to us about this solution is the differentiation between all of the other booths at ArtWalk, many relying on arrays of wire grids and other solutions that we as framers and designers feel usually diminish the presentation of the art. Even without paint, the ECOR™ advanced composite panels gave us a simple, distinctive gallery look.

All of these panels were returned directly to ECOR™ project manager Tim Newburn for reuse in future ECOR™ marketing and prototyping projects. We were pleased that some green design fans came specifically to see what ECOR™ had to do with art or ArtWalk, and pleased to share our story with them of working together with Tim, Coleen Lassegard and Robert Noble of the ECOR™ project to create opportunities for all of us to grow our programs and businesses.
The entire show that you see in these pictures is possible only because of this kind of collaboration, collected into an idea called San Diego Artist Services, a new project sponsored by The Frame Maker that helps San Diego businesses work together to get more work done in San Diego.
More to come this week on the way to our reception on Friday, be sure to stop by the showroom after 6pm if you’re in San Diego!
