Another side of ECOR™ in Artists Proof at The Frame Maker
May 11, 2009 – 8:53 amIn our last few posts about The Frame Maker booth at ArtWalk, we talked about the versatility and light weight convenience of 100% recycled ECOR™ panels in constructing a custom temporary gallery in the middle of Little Italy– the very last post about Chris Kierkegaard’s custom frames showed them displayed at ArtWalk on an ECOR™ panel covered in carpet like the sample walls in The Frame Maker showroom.
Installed last week in the showroom is the complete show that we previewed in our booth, Artists’ Proof: Six San Diego artists explore digital reproduction, which features work printed with cutting edge machines on a wider array of substrates than has ever been possible before, including (if you haven’t guessed yet) the very same ECOR™ panels we used in the booth.
Check out this set of four pieces entitled “Bodhi Meditations #1-4”.

Bodhi Meditation series printed on ECOR™ advanced environmental composite
These pieces are reproductions of an original series by TFM consultant John Hiemstra, digital photography by Mike Brown, printed by Moebius Color, (all participants in the new San Diego Artist Services program we’ve helped John launch here at The Frame Maker) directly on 1″ deep ECOR™ panels with UV resistant outdoor inks framed in traditional “floater” style.
This is one of six custom projects created for Artists’ Proof, by the artists who work at The Frame Maker through the San Diego Artist Services program. Come down to the showroom this week to find out more–opening reception this Friday at 6pm!!
